The Secret to Finally Reaching Your Goals

The Secret to Finally Reaching Your Goals

Wanna know the secret to finally reaching your goals? Pick a deadline! How are you doing with your goals? Have you given them a deadline, or are they still waiting for “someday”? Studies have shown that many people accomplish most of the work in the last portion of the time you’re given. That’s why setting a date is so important.

I remember when I was just getting started with Happy Success Ranch Retreats. Dave asked me a simple question: “When is your first retreat?” I hadn’t picked a date yet, but once I did, everything changed. I had something to work toward, and each step became more intentional.

I also love Sandra Yancey’s reminder: “Ready isn’t a feeling. It’s a decision.” If you’re waiting until you feel completely ready, you may be waiting forever. I want to encourage you to choose one goal, set a deadline, and take the very next step. You might be surprised at what you can accomplish when you decide to begin.

The Herd Behind the Healing: Sweet

The Herd Behind the Healing: Sweet

Let’s continue in my series: the Herd Behind the Healing! Sweet is in his early 20s. His best friends are Spirit and Harry Trotter. He is an Arabian horse with a flaxen mane and tail. He is a gelding. Sweet came to us with another one of our horses Ben. They came from the Washington area. Their human mom passed away from lung cancer. They were supposed to go to Colorado, but they could not get transport service there, so we were asked if we would take them. Sweet is a great healer and loves working with our Equine Gestalt coaching clients. He loves to do the belief cones. He is such a love bug, and we are so grateful he is a part of our herd.

In this series I share the stories of the horses who help make Happy Success Ranch Retreats such a special place full of happiness and healing. Click below to learn more about Sweet’s story.

Free printable: Guiding Values

Free printable: Guiding Values

One of the most powerful things you can do for yourself is identify your core values. Your values are the beliefs and principles that guide your decisions, shape your behavior, and influence the direction of your life. Think of them as your inner lighthouse, helping you navigate opportunities, relationships, and challenges. When you know your values, it’s easier to determine what fits and what doesn’t.

Here’s how to use your printable. Look at the list included in the printable and circle the words that stand out to you. Which values consistently drive your attention, choices, and actions?

As you narrow your list, challenge yourself to identify your top three core values. These are the values that have likely been woven throughout your life. Once you’ve identified them, learn them as well as you know your phone number. Let them become a filter for your decisions and a guide for how you spend your time, energy, and attention. Write your top 3 values in the lighthouse and use them to guide your life.

My three guiding values are: Love, Happiness & Making a Difference

What to Do When Life Feels Overwhelming: Psalm 61

What to Do When Life Feels Overwhelming: Psalm 61

Have you ever had to live through an overwhelming situation? Are you in one right now? Lately, I have been feeling very overwhelmed myself. We discovered that our ice maker pipe was leaking, which has put us right in the middle of a kitchen remodel, all while we are also trying to get hay in for all of the animals for winter. It has felt like a lot all at once.

In the middle of it, I found myself turning to Psalm 61:1-4, which is such a beautiful reminder to cry out to God when your heart is overwhelmed and to let Him lead you to the rock. It also made me think of the “Footprints in the Sand” story, where during the hardest moments, it was Jesus carrying you. If you are walking through an overwhelming season right now, I want to encourage you to take refuge in Him. You do not have to carry it all alone. He’s got you, and He will carry you through. 1 O God, listen to my cry!
    Hear my prayer!
From the ends of the earth,
I cry to you for help
    when my heart is overwhelmed.
Lead me to the towering rock of safety,
for you are my safe refuge,
a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me.
Let me live forever in your sanctuary,
safe beneath the shelter of your wings!

(Psalm 61:1-4)
