The Herd Behind the Healing: Shasta

The Herd Behind the Healing: Shasta

Have you met the “boss mare” of Happy Success Ranch Retreats before? Let’s continue in my new series: the Herd Behind the Healing! Shasta is a 24-year-old buckskin mare. She is the leader of the herd. Her best friend is Babie. She is one of our greatest healers. She is heart horse, and she especially works with clients and their broken hearts. She foundered back in Tennessee, so we have to be careful with her when the green grass pops up. She’s currently under the arena on a special diet because of that right now!

In this series I am sharing the stories of the horses who help make Happy Success Ranch Retreats such a special place full of happiness and healing. Click below to hear more.

The Herd Behind the Healing: Ranger

The Herd Behind the Healing: Ranger

Do you know who the first horse was to step up and do the healing equine gestalt work? It was Ranger! Let’s continue in my new series: the Herd Behind the Healing!

Some people call him Mighty Power Ranger because he’s such an amazing healer. He’s 23 years old. Dave, my husband, got Ranger for me for my birthday during our first year of marriage. Ranger is a palomino paint.  He has one blue eye and one brown eye. He was the first horse from the herd to step up and do the healing work back in 2014 when Happy Success Ranch Retreats began. We got him when he was 6 months old. He has one baby who is also a part of the herd: Rowdy. We also call him the cat with 9 lives because he has had at least 4 injuries that should have killed him. We are so thankful he is a part of the herd!

The Herd Behind the Healing: Chevy

The Herd Behind the Healing: Chevy

Let’s continue in my new series: the Herd Behind the Healing! Chevy is a thoroughbred and a former polo horse with a gentle soul and quiet presence. Around the ranch, his nickname is “The Shy Guy” because he can be a little reserved at first. Once he trusts you, there’s something incredibly special and calming about him. Every shy guy needs a best friend, and for Chevy, that’s Tater. In this series I am sharing the stories of the horses who help make Happy Success Ranch Retreats such a special place full of happiness and healing.
